FPOC is a NDIA and TIS National registered provider. Our team of professional interpreters and translators will assist registered participants from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds that may need interpreting assistance to communicate with providers.
An interpreter may be needed when:

- It is clear that the person does not speak English
- The client’s English is limited & unlikely to be sufficient for a complex conversation
- The client (or their carer/family) requests one
TIS National contract more than 3,000 certified interpreters across Australia, in more than 160 different languages. NDIS participants can access phone interpreting services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, however not all languages are available during this time period.
NDIS participants and carers are not charged for language interpreting services. Your NDIS provider is responsible for offering you interpreter services to help you use the supports you have funded in your plan.
Your support coordinator will book a face-to-face or over the phone language support interpreter for you. You can ask your support coordinator to help book a specific interpreter every time you meet with them, for example, if you want the same interpreter or prefer a specific gender.
Our services are designed to help you get the most out of your life. Do you have a question or would like to find out more? FPOC’s trained and qualified support workers are here to answer any questions you may have.
